Newspaper Articles on Heaven and Earth

I’ve searched the internet for old newspaper clippings that deal with the topic of heaven and earth. Here’s what I’ve unearthed.

  1. Concave earth theory is a bit odd by today’s standards 😁. If the Sun is at the centre of a concave sphere, wouldn’t all of the earth’s concave surface receive light all of the time? How would they explain day and night, and the seasons?

I thought that experiment with the piano wire and plumb bobs was very interesting. I wonder how the modern physicist would explain the outcome of that experiment? Anecdotally, it would suggest concavity! Perhaps magnetic forces of gravity. I am not physicist, so maybe someone who is could explain!

Despite some of the questionable logic to support the theory of concavity, I admire the open-mindedness and willingness to explore and debate competing theories. That is an essential ingredient in the advancement of science for without it, a scientific revolution cannot come about – it shouts “prove me wrong if you can” – the null hypothesis.

    Enjoyed these articles Joe.
