Mercury and Venus Music of the Spheres

Mercury, Venus, Musica Universalis. The Music of the Spheres. The Musical Harmony of the Planets. Mercury makes beautiful music. If you’re on Mercury it takes two years to experience one day. This 2:1 ratio is what’s called the ‘perfect octave’ in music theory. It is also encoded into the geometry of a triangle. The circle inside a triangle is exactly one half the size of the circle outside it. Coincidentally (or not) the triangle also defines the orbital relationships between Mercury, and the next planet out, Venus. The perfect octave is the first harmonic interval followed by the ‘perfect fifth’ which is also extremely pleasant to the human ear. This 3:2 ratio is reflected in the temporal patterns of Mercury. It’s curious that the Moon has such an influence on the oceans, which are made of water. And water’s boiling point is 273.2 % higher than its freezing point. We are something like 80% water. The Moon is said to influence our emotions. Especially females. Women menstruate every full moon. Menstruation (menstrualis) literally translates to “monthly”. And “month” of course come from “moon”. There is structure to the prime numbers. Divine order from apparent chaos. Primes, or numbers that are divisible by only themselves and one, don’t grow like weeds among the other numbers like mathematicians claim.  A very simple pattern emerges when the numbers are laid out in rows of six and twelve. Dice reveal an esoteric pattern hidden in the prime numbers. Take a die and arrange all natural numbers upon it. Since there are only six sides, seven will naturally get organized on the ‘one’ side. Eight will get stacked upon two, and so forth.  The cube models the most three-dimensional space, more than any other of the platonic solids.   The primes are in green. Palindromic Squares

A palindrome is a word, phrase, or number which reads the same backward or forward.  The squares of 10, 11, 12, and 13 fit the bill.  It breaks down after that since 15 squared is 225, and 51 squared is 2601. Why only these 4 or arguably 3 numbers? Does this give credence to the notion that base 10 is an innate numerical matrix to our reality? Did we invent the decimal system or did we observe patterns in the numbers themselves and organize them according to nature? What is it about ten that makes numbers so easily scalable and calculable? I found this gem in a book by Marty Leeds.  I added the ten squared to it.  It works of course if you put two zeros before the one on the right side.  It’s weird how this works for 10, 11, 12, and 13.…

When we compare the size of Earth and Moon strange geometric synchronicities appear. The most fascinating of all is the ancient philosophical concept of ‘squaring the circle‘, that is drawing a square with the same area as that of the circle. You can also ‘square the circle’ with equal perimeters, which is what the Earth-Moon system do, to a very high degree of accuracy (99.97%). The Earth and Moon’s diameters can be described as a simple ratio, 11:3, when comparing one to another. It turns out that this ratio is the solution to ‘squaring the circle’ (of equal perimeter).   The Moon describes a circle that has the same circumference as the square’s perimeter that surrounds Earth. Antikythera Mechanism

Referred to as the first known analog computer, the Antikythera Mechanism was discovered over a hundred years ago off the coast of Greece.   The mechanism is a device for calculating the motions of stars and planets.  Its true significance wasn’t realized until the early 70’s, when it was x-rayed and analyzed. The Greek astronomer Meton of Athens (fifth century BC) observed that a period of 19 years is almost exactly equal to 235 synodic months and, rounded to full days, counts 6,940 days. The difference between the two periods is only a few hours.  When we reduce these numbers to their digital root we find they all reduce to One.  Is this just a coincidence or is there an underlying concept in the cosmos that reveals itself in the form on geometry and number?
